FireAid Benefit Concert: Music Legends Unite for Wildfire Relief in LA

Sam Gladden

In order to help raise money for Wildfire Relief in Los Angeles, mobile game developer Scopely has decided to sponsor a relief concert known as FireAid. Scopely, with the help of other sponsors such as American Express, AT&T, and Netflix, aims to raise a life-changing amount of money for those affected by the wildfires in Los Angeles. The FireAid Benefit Concert was held on January 30th at both the Kia Forum and Intuit Dome, each located within a mile of each other. The shows at the Kia Forum began at 6:00 p.m. Pacific Time, while the Intuit shows started at 7:30, with both shows featuring a wide range of performers.

Attendees of the Intuit Dome on the 30th saw performances from Billie Eilish, Lil Baby, Stevie Wonder, Tate McRae, Rod Stewart, Earth, Wind & Fire, and many more. Forum event-goers saw Alanis Morissette, Green Day, P!NK, The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Anderson .Paak, and more. Unfortunately, fans could not attend both concerts, but FireAid came up with a solution for this. Attendees at the Intuit Dome were able to watch all performances at the Forum on screens inside the arena, while fans at the Kia Forum got to watch the Intuit Dome performances from inside the Forum.

Those unable to travel to LA were also still able to watch this once-in-a-lifetime concert as it was broadcast and streamed live across a range of platforms, including Amazon Music/Prime Video, Apple Music, Disney Plus, Hulu, Paramount Plus, and many more, according to the FireAid website. Original tickets listed on Ticketmaster started at $100, but in the days leading up to the concerts, the cheapest available tickets were between $1,000 and $1,500. Ticketmaster has prohibited ticket resales for this concert to ensure that all proceeds from ticket purchases go directly to supporting the victims of the wildfires.
